Rectangular lifting magnets are commonly used in shipyards, steel mills, and foundries to lift heavy sheets, plates, rounds or square bars, bundles, billets, ingots, and other similar items. Whereas a 1 mm gap might result in a 50% reduction in lifting capacity, the rectangular lifting magnet makes direct contact with the surface.
Individually or in groups, these magnets can be employed with a variety of suspension systems. The following considerations have a role in making the best system choice:
