Magnetic drum separators have the highest magnetic strength and are suitable for a variety of applications, such as scrap processing, auto shredding, mining, aggregate, and the removal of enormous amounts of metal.
The Magnetic Drum Separator works on the simple principle of feeding material into a spinning shell that revolves around a stationary magnet. The ferrous metal remains on the shell surface until it passes through the magnetic field, which separates it from the nonferrous material’s regular path.
The Drum Separator is designed with a self-cleaning magnet that may be purchased separately or as a complete assembly that includes the housing and drive.
The material to be sorted enters the drum separator through the top and flows across the drum’s surface. All non-ferrous products that are unaffected by the magnet break loose from the drum shell and into the cleaned material flow as the drum revolves around the stationary magnetic field.
The magnetic field captures any ferrous tramp metal and holds it on the drum’s surface. The metal is carried past the diverter and discharged outside the magnetic field as the drum revolves.
